Wedding Abroad Stationery Ideas
You want to give your guests as much warning as possible about your wedding abroad, but sending an invitation more than a few months ahead can seem a little OTT, which is where 'Save the Date' cards come in very useful.
Spread the word early
Save the Date cards started in America and didn’t really catch on here until the wedding abroad industry started to take off.
Usually sent out anything from 6 months to 18 months ahead of the wedding day, they're a great informal way of giving people plenty of notice and giving you an early indication of numbers.
You can include as much or as little information as you like but it's generally kept to the essentials (where and when).
Many couples also include include a link to a personalised wedding website. Even if you haven't had chance to fully develop one yet, giving your invitees a web address reassures them that you intend to help them plan and that there's exciting times ahead!
Its also a very efficient way of getting them to RSVP too.
Some couples follow Save the Date cards up nearer the time with a formal invitation while others let a website do the job. Entirely up to you.
