The sun soaked islands of the Caribbean are the most popular long-haul destination of choice for British couples heading overseas to marry. But with so many islands to choose from there's still plenty to go around.
Your type of place
Whichever Caribbean island you pick for your wedding you are guaranteed white sands, turquoise seas and beautiful accommodation. But there are more subtle differences throughout the Caribbean too, which allow you to find somewhere that truly suits your style.
Choose the Windward island of St Lucia for its dramatic, lush mountain landscape and French/ British influences or head to Jamaica for an authentic Caribbean vibe.
If it's outright expense and glamour you’re after for your wedding, you will struggle to beat the BVI’s or Anguilla – whose pristine powder beaches have lured the likes of Brad Pitt and Robert de Niro.

The Caribbean legal requirements vary depending on where you decide to marry. On average couples need to be on an island for 2-3 days before the wedding to apply for their marriage licence and allow time for the paperwork to be processed.
For some resorts there is also some form filling that you need to do and send ahead of your arrival. Your wedding venue will be able to help with the process but you need to be across it too. Find out all you need to know here.
